(one of those months??!!)
It has been over a month since I last posted anything. So many things have happened... we were in and out of town (mostly out!) the whole month of July, and way into August....
During this time, we've had much happiness and good times, as well as some really terrible heartaches, too.
Most of you who read this blog know of the loss of our sweet little Gus, Robby and Melanie's new baby. He was the victim of SIDS on August 1st. Gus was not quite 6 weeks old and perfect in every way. This was absolutely, without a doubt, one of the three hardest things I've ever experienced... (the stillbirth of Tim and Nicolle's little Alistair in February of 2002, and Kristi's passing in April of 2005 are the other two). I hate the pain that we witnessed in our children and the total helplessness we felt and our inability to take any of it away or make anything better. We are all in the healing process, but will feel the hole his passing has left in our family for a very long time. We are all so grateful for our knowledge of the Lord's Plan of Salvation, that we know Gus will always be a part of our family, and there will be, someday, a joyous reunion with him. Thank Heavens for our Eternal Family. This is, however, the reason for my not posting for the last while. I just wasn't up to it... I had wanted this to be a fun, lighthearted blog and I just haven't been feeling very lighthearted. I am now, however, ready to get started with it again... I'm taking my lead from Melanie... if she can do it, so can I.
During the last month+ we've been to two weddings, one in Utah and one in Mesa, having seen many friends and relatives, and there was also a trip to San Diego for a family reunion. I will be be covering these events, plus the work Steve/Dad has gotten done on our landscaping, in the next few blogs. Check back often as I hope to catch up quickly and move on and keep more current.
Thanks for your patience with me (or not so patient, Kacey!)
Stay with me... I'll try to make it worth your while to come back often.During this time, we've had much happiness and good times, as well as some really terrible heartaches, too.
