More?

This is the view I faced when I opened my garage door earlier... over 3 feet of snow mounded up, blocking any exit, like humongous dollops of sour cream! I guess I won't be going anywhere anytime soon! It must be time to just hunker down and accept it.

OK, this is weird... Yesterday afternoon it was sunny and bright... I didn't really believe it was over yet as the weather services and people were saying there was still more to come, but it LOOKED like it was over... I woke up this morning and it was sunny and beautiful... blues skies and all... COLD like crazy, but sunny.

Now.... it's clouded over and snowing again!!!

Here is a cool shot of a corner of my roof... I don't know what it looks like from the front view because I haven't been out that far to see, but thought this was worth sharing.

And THIS, my friends is what the road looks like after the County guys finished grading the road last night....

What road, might you ask?
EXACTLY!
I am standing on my deck, which is raised up some 2.5 - 3 feet and still can't see the road!!! I'm not sure if they just didn't scrape it off deep enough or the berms lining the sides of the road are just too high!
One way or the other, even if I could get out of the garage and back down the drive way, I would still have to contend with the big ridges left by the snow plow across the entrance. And this is not to mention that there is a ditch and culvert on both sides of the driveway and I can't see anymore where they are! I can just see me going off into one of them just to make matters worse! Haha!

I'm so grateful I don't really have to go somewhere and for the wise counsel to have food storage... and especially for powdered milk! It seems like milk is what everyone runs out of and to the store for most often in day to day living. I'm glad I can just go to the pantry, pull out a canister and whir some up! Nice.

Luckily, I even like the taste of it! I guess it's a good thing I'm just not too picky about milk. The convenience and economy of having it on hand is well worth learning to like the taste of non-fat dry milk.

In closing... here is a picture of my neighbors' very tall sunflowers that I see through my office window. They look so forlorn.

Just for the record, the sun has been trying really hard to stay out... It keeps peeking in and out of the clouds. When it's out it is warm and soothing as it thaws and comforts my old bones. When it shines through this window, it feels just like sitting in front of the fire .... nice.

Wow, Tina, that snow is amazing! I can't believe the way it just hangs off the roof like that! It's incredible! Looks like it's a great day to go sledding off the roof, lol!

Oh man, sometimes I don't miss Idaho!

And amen to food storage! Mike and I have been trying to get on it now that we have money and room. I'm excited to get going to the Cannery, etc.
