And... to all those of you who guessed things like Relief Society President or Primary President or Young Women's President.... I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad you were wrong!! I wouldn't have been all that excited about those opportunities!
OK, ready? ... no, really... ready?
Ward Historian, Sacrament Meeting Program/Bulletin, and Webmaster for the Ward's home page and calendar on LDS.org. OK, so you're not all that impressed, but wait, there's more... Our ward has a blog and that is where I'll keep our Ward History. Then at the end of the year, I'll upload it to a site that will make it into a book... I'm so glad it's not the old way of developing pictures, gluing them in place and dealing with large notebooks and tons of paper. And I don't have to have any scrap booking skills! Yea! I'm not into scrap booking and have no desire to be. I have so many ideas of stuff to do with it... First of all will be to try to generate some interest in it... It is a secure site and there are only 16 people currently approved to visit the site... and 3 of them are me, the past Historian, and the executive secretary of the ward. We HAVE to have approval, but the ward just hasn't gotten into it yet, so I intend to change all that!
All of this job/calling involves the computer, so now I'll have lots of legitimate reasons to spend innumerable hours on it! The hardest part of the job will be attending all the activities of the ward... yes, practically every event or activity of each and every organization to take pictures to post... I am pretty much of a recluse these days and prefer to stay home. Apparently that's not the Lord has in mind for me. It should be fun, however, being in the know of everything going on in the ward and community.
The bishop also wants me to place articles in the little local newspaper, The Mogollon Connection, about things that the ward or stake is doing that would involve the community.
I'm excited to get going and glad I can finally begin... I've already taken pictures of the new YW's presidency (the president being the one I'm replacing), a new deacon and the new baby who was blessed today.
This is going to be great fun!
