However.... It really was not with that saw! He used a chain saw (which he LOVES!) to down the trees and cut them in to big rounds like you see there by him. Then he uses an axe to split them into usable pieces. He loves doing that, too! This saw was a gift from a neighbor for some work Steve did around her house.
We've just about run out of room to store firewood! This is not all, either... there's some piled behind that 5th wheel you see to the back and left. (Good thing we have THAT thing! Couldn't get it out if we wanted to!) It sure is nice to know we have plenty of wood, though, for the cold winters around here! (That is several years' worth there) The wood fireplace is what we use almost exclusively for heat, only turning the heater on if some of the more wimpy family members from the Valley come up to see us.

What a guy!! I remember those days. We're wimps now...got a new super duper furnace this summer.
dad is so awesome. i love that guy! and you too. :) glad to know you will both be warm this winter.
Good grief! I think Dad needs a new hobby. Maybe he should start learning how to carve those pieces of wood into fun characters (like bears holding fishing poles with big grins on their faces).
P.S. It's even "cold" HERE today!
Steve, what a man!!!! Good way to keep yourself warm twice; once when cutting and once when warmng yourself by the fire! And look what it does for the old bod - keeps it feeling younger. Good on you. Love & miss you guys, Juanita
So what happens when the wood gets wet? Do you have to keep it covered? You guys are prepared in so many ways. Wish you lived next door so you could teach me how to bottle stuff. Well, maybe not next door.....
