UPDATE: Just finished my 10th batch, 7 qts. each, of cherries... total jars: 69! (Last batch only had 6 qts...Guess we ate too many of them during the process!) Yahoo... I'm so pleased with all these beautiful bottles of sweet jewels!

This is what I've been doing for the last few days... Canning cherries! We opened a bottle this evening and oh man, are they ever good. This is the first time I've canned any fruit... but it won't be the LAST!

I'm impressed. I used to can a lot when I had children at home, but found Bob and I just don't eat quart bottles fast enough and end up throwing a lot out. So I have pretty much quit, but you're giving me the bug again.

those look sooo good! cherries are one of my favorites :)
I can see I better get more bottles bought this year so they will be ready for me next year ~ here I am in cherry growing country and haven't bottled any in years. I think I will do them like I do apples and make the cherry pie filling and bottle it that way ~ one less step later on! They are awesome looking! Juanita
