Oh, my gosh! My house smells sooooo good!

... and this is why!
I love bread day!!! Yummmmm... I have doctored up a recipe I got years ago from a good friend, Claudia Randall in Mesa, who made the best homemade bread I'd ever tasted. However, over the years, I decided I wanted to put more ingredients in to make it even more nourishing. This is my latest version of it and Steve/Dad loves it! It has all kinds of stuff in it from chopped almonds to flax seed meal, from potato flakes to cracked wheat, bran and germ!

Oh, I sure wish ya'll were here to smell this and have a hot buttered chunk of it! Too bad, guess we'll have to eat it all ourselves!!! :>)

I received the following recipe in my e-mail today and thought it looked sooo good I wanted to share it with you. Enjoy

Chocolate Caramel Cupcakes

INGREDIENTS:
1 package (18-1/4 ounces) chocolate cake mix 24 caramels 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips 1 cup chopped walnuts Chocolate frostingAdditional walnuts, optional
DIRECTIONS:
Prepare cake batter according to package directions.
Fill 24 greased or paper-lined muffin cups one-third full; set remaining batter aside. Bake at 350° for 7-8 minutes or until top of cupcake appears set.
Gently press a caramel into each cupcake; sprinkle with chocolate chips and walnuts. Top with remaining batter. Bake 15-20 minutes longer or until a toothpick inserted near the center of cake comes out clean. Cool for 5 minutes; remove from pans to wire racks to cool completely. Frost with chocolate frosting. Sprinkle with additional nuts if desired. Yield: 2 dozen.

Ok, I guess I'm done blogging for the day. Have a great evening...

Until we 'speak' again... Adios, mi amigos!

PS. don't forget to scroll down a little further and see my post from earlier today.... :>)

Oh my gosh that bread looks so good. I choose bread over chocolate any day ... even if it's healthy. I still make Garna's recipe, only mine is minus a few things instead of plus. Good job Mom! And thank you for getting rid of Tweety.
