Hello, Monday!

Ok, once again, first things first.
Considering the political atmosphere in the country,
I thought I throw this in.
Boy, the weeks sure fly by quickly! Can't believe it's been a week since I posted something.

Karen said she was sick of seeing Tweety Bird every time she checked my blog, so I guess it's time to do something else.

Yesterday we only had one meeting again, but it had nothing to do with tons of extra visitors.... the well in Heber is down because of some kind of part they were waiting on for repairs , so there was a major shortage of water. They didn't want to put a strain on the system by having so many people in the building for 3-4, hours, times 3 wards, using the 'facilities'. A family can conserve water at home in ways that can't be instituted in a public place. So we had a great 1st-Sunday-of-the-month meeting, slightly extended, and went home. The well should be up and running by tomorrow night.
We aren't doing anything too exciting around here except 'the boss' has gotten an itch to do some landscaping. So he had a load of cinders delivered and made a circular drive in front, lined with rail road ties.

I'll give you a little play-by-play of what's going on.
The before shot.... As you can see, NOTHING had been done before and the natural grasses and weeds lived happily in our front yard.
Here's the truck that brought the cinders. It's really cool to watch big equipment do their thing!

This was the first of the cinders going down and below is end of that initial pass.

It's amazing how smooth they can spread them right out of the truck.

Below is the finished drive.

We still have to get a culvert put in on the far side and then cover it to make a smooth entrance to the drive.

It's going to be really nice. I'm excited to see the end result. Below is shot from the front deck.

Satur- day, a load of dirt arrived to level things out so we can plant some trees, flowers and shrubs. We bought three trees on Saturday.

I'll post more pictures as things happen. Hopefully this won't be a long process.
Well, that's about all, folks!
Thanks for checking in with me!

Dang I wish I was the Gospel Doctrine Teacher in your ward! Wow, the last time I was up there, I had to heave myself up onto the deck since there were no steps ... you've done a lot since then. It looks great. I love getting new trees. What kind did you buy?

Karen, the trees we got were Flowering Plum, Honey Locust, and Maple. They aren't very big, but it's a start.

I love the Flowering Plum. One of mine just died and I think Dad should buy me another one for Father's Day.
