Yesterday was great!!!

I haven't run off and had lunch with anyone since we got home from our mission last July! This was the day! I met a new friend at the temple in Snowflake last Wednesday, the 30th. It was one of those things that happens once in a great while, where the friendship is just instantaneous... like you've known that person forever! Like maybe from the pre-existence... Anyway, that's what happened for us, so we decided to get together for lunch and learn about each other's lives in this sphere...

This is Caron Mullen, who lives in Show Low, but works in Snowflake at the Northern Arizona Academy, a charter high school . Her husband is a retired sheet metal worker (construction) and Scottish to boot. Does that sound like anyone you know?!

Another interesting thing is that she is Mitt Romney's 2nd cousin and is related to my brother-in-law, Gene Romney, who is also a 2nd cousin... they share the same great-grandfather... their grandfathers were brothers. Also, her brother, Craig Cederstrom and his wife Debbie, were friends/ward members of ours in Mesa many years ago. I love finding this stuff out.We had lunch at Trappers Cafe in Taylor, who incidentally has famous and incredibly good pies. We had their special which was Chicken Alfredo.... oh, yummmm! Anyway, we failed to leave room for pie, so next time we'll start with pie and see if there's any room for lunch!

After we'd talked for her whole lunch hour, and then some, I'm afraid, I left and went to Show Low where my favorite place is...

yes, Wal Mart....

I don't very often get to just wander around for as long as I want without my 'keeper', or when I haven't been dropped off while he goes next door to Home Depot, so I made the most of it and spent somewhere between 3 and 4 hours! No, I can't believe it either, but apparently it did happen. I had a wonderful afternoon.... felt like I'd been on vacation!
Well, that's it for my report on yesterday's antics!

luv ya, anyone who reads this! (and especially anyone who comments!)

Hi Aunt Tina!
I think this is the best way we have found to keep in touch for a very long time. It's fun to hear about what everyone is doing down there. I am glad you've got a blog now!

Wow Mom! You've put your feelings down in black and white about your very new friend. Now when you find out about her really irritating habit it's going to be very hard to "break up". You're very brave. Tee hee

Not worried about finding any irritating habits... You'd love her, too! Besides, if she can stand mine, we're covered. :>)
