Just wanted to tell you that after today, it will probably be next week before I post again. We are going down to the Valley to see the family and witness our grandson, Trenton, be ordained as a Deacon at 8 p.m. tonight. He turned 12 years old yesterday and this is a big time in his life.
He is a great kid, a good big brother to a little sister and 3 little brothers. He is smart, and funny and just an all around wonderful young man. Trenton is Dan & Tiffany's oldest child.

Another reason we're going down is that another of our grandsons is turning 12 as well. His birthday is tomorrow, April 18th. His ordination will be next Sunday, the 27th.
Jake, too, is an amazing young man. He is very smart, quite an accomplished pianist (composer and all!) and terrific son, grandson, brother and friend. Jake is Karen and Gary's next to youngest.

I want the boys to know how much we love them and how proud we are of the lives they've lived thus far We are especially pleased with them for this special choice they've made. Receiving the priesthood is the next step in proving to the Lord they are worthy followers and that they are trying to obey His commandments.
Good job, boys!
5:21 p.m. - Update on this post: So sorry, Trenton. Apparently the bout of flu Grandpa and I had for the last 3 days has landed on us again! We thought we were over it. What a couple of cry-babies we sound like... We hope you will forgive us for not being there... We'll catch up with you and your birthday as soon as we can. How disappointed we are that we won't be a part of tonight's special ordinance. Love to all of you... xox
Addendum: 4-18-08, 10:30 a.m. I snagged this picture off Karen's blog posted today... This is of these boys, with me, as tiny babies. You could pick them out anywhere!! Aren't they just so cute?!!

Very nice Mom. I love those pictures. I hope you're feeling better.
The boys are such cuties; hopefully they don't let the girls turn their heads before they do missions and things!!! I know how disappointed you are to not get there but am sure they will understand; they both look like smart guys! I am sure they have no doubt you would have been there had you not been sick. Get better ~ love you guys, Juanita
